The College of Agriculture at Wasit University discussed a master’s thesis titled “Assessment of Risks Resulting from the Oasis Oil Company in Soil, Water, and Plant Pollution.” The thesis, presented by researcher Noor Hamdan Jarallah, aimed to evaluate the soil surrounding the Oasis oil field for heavy elements such as lead, cadmium, chromium, nickel, cobalt, and mercury. The concentrations were described using pollution indicators like pollution factor, pollution load index, and nutritional enrichment factor.
