The study, conducted by student Zahraa Kareem Madi, revealed that some soils in the marshes are rich in organic matter containing humic and fulvic acids, contributing to increased cation exchange capacity of certain positive ions. The comparison was made with soil from Al-Diwaniyah Governorate in the Abu Al-Fadl Nursery area.

The research highlighted the importance of Iraqi marsh soils, particularly in central and southern Iraq, emphasizing the need for further studies in this field due to its practical significance.
